PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – Michele Rayner-Goolsby is a civil rights attorney and a justice warrior, but her most coveted title is public servant. Raised in Pinellas County, the Florida trailblazer currently represents Florida House District 70. The first weekend in December, Democrats gathered in Orlando to chart the course for leadership in the sunshine state. As a demonstration of her illustrious charisma, Rep. Rayner brought the house down during a panel moderated by former attorney general candidate Sean Shaw. Rep. Rayner gave impassioned remarks about the role of service and its intersection with politics.

Michele Rayner Is Running For Congress

Rep. Michele Rayner is no stranger to making history. Her parents integrated the University of South Florida and she is the first openly queer black woman to ever be elected to the Florida Legislature. Since being elected in 2020, her career has catapulted to the stratosphere. She has relentless determination to advance a political agenda focused on breaking cycles of poverty and violence. Our local nightly news anchors lead every broadcast with gun violence and traffic accidents. On the contrary Rep. Rayner does not ascribe to the media’s singular definition of violence.
