The leadership conference was well attended and a testament to the strength of a diverse coalition. Mainstream media outlets framed the Florida Democratic mission as an upstream challenge. But Florida Democrats are sprinting towards 2022 with the wind at their backs. The Florida Democratic Party has a plan to overcome redistricting. They also have a strategy to overcome corrupt candidate Ron DeSantis and his culture wars. Not only do Democrats have a strategy, but they also have the game plan ready to roll out.

This year Democrats didn’t come to play, they came to slay. With an equal emphasis on party unity, Chairman of the Democratic Party, Manny Diaz, leads a coalition of community volunteers consolidated around common goals:

Democracy Protection

Delivery of Promises to Voters

Disciplined Messaging

Florida Democrats Are Enthusiastic

The most enthusiasm centered around the Black Caucus breakout session. Leaders from the African-American community flanked by black elected officials gave Democrats the 2022 pathway to victory. Notable words of encouragement were met with roaring rounds of applause and with an occasional shout of “Amen” and “I know that’s right!” Furthermore, Twitter took notice of Democratic elected officials, with the speeches of Rep. Anna Eskamani, Rep. Shevrin Jones and Rep. Michele Rayner-Goolsby going viral.

Florida Democrats Are United

Rep. Fentrice Diskell unveiled a messaging vehicle called How We All Win. Her goal for the Democratic Party is to create the freedom for us all to be healthy, prosperous, and safe. Democrats will take this message across the sunshine state as voters prepare to go to the polls in 2022.
