Niceville Voters Boycott Subway Franchise

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Voters of Okaloosa County decided to embrace moral corporate citizenship and boycott a Subway franchise in Niceville, Florida. The decision came after the franchise owner, Justice Coarsey, displayed a ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ flag in the subway store. This fall, ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ became conservative code for something far more vulgar: “F—k Joe Biden”.

On Oct. 2, 2021, radicalized Republicans at a NASCAR race in Alabama, repeatedly chanted “F—k Joe Biden.” A reporter interviewing Brandon Brown, the winner of the Xfinity Series, thought the crowd was shouting “Let’s Go Brandon”. The NBC Sports Reporter soon realized he was mistaken.

‘Let’s Go Brandon’ has since gone viral on social media and merchandising immediately took notice. The phrase even made it to the floor of the House of Representatives when corrupt conservative congressman Bill Posey-(R) launched a sarcastic swing at President Joe Biden during a speech on Build Back Better. Posey, who represents Melbourne, FL hasn’t delivered a single legislative win for the people of Florida.

Subway Boycott

On Saturday, December 5, 2021 a customer of the Niceville Subway franchise, located on 4508 Highway 20 E., noticed a flag donning the foul slogan on the wall. Concerned customers reached out to the owner to point out the inappropriateness of the flag in the restaurant. Her response:

At Subway, we often promote different products in new, creative ways in order to keep things fresh and appeal across the broad spectrum of our loyal customers. I appreciate your feedback and the time you took to share your point of view. I apologize your last visit did not meet your expectation. I have shared your feedback with my team to improve our customer service. Thank you for being a loyal Subway® customer and we look forward to serving you again in the future. Let’s Go Brandon!

Justice Coarsey

Coarsey, a 49 year old republican from Valparaiso, didn’t realize her snarky reply would light a fire in the belly of over 26,000 voters. Since her snide remarks were shared on social media, hundreds of Niceville customers are now boycotting the Subway franchise. Local activist shared the locations of other sandwich shops in Okaloosa County as an alternative to Coarsey’s Subway franchise.

Why would a franchise owner risk the economic success of her business over a spiteful slogan that has nothing to do with selling sandwiches? Arrogance. Ignorance. Apathy for her employees. Coarsey depends on revenue from the franchise to pay her employees. As her revenue drops this holiday season hopefully her employees can convince her to rethink whether or not she wants her business to die on this hill.
