(FLORIDA) – As Floridians, we deserve leaders who follow the law, act honorably in our interests and govern ethically in our name. A Grand Jury made up of everyday Americans across race, background and political party has indicted the former MAGA President for 30 counts of bribes and corruption. These heroic American citizens weighed the evidence and decided he must stand trial for his alleged illegal business dealings.
Yet a handful of MAGA Republicans, like Ron DeSantis, Matt Gaetz, and Alex Andrade are trying to undermine and overturn our entire legal system to keep covering up for him. These politicians lay cover over a twice impeached former President, who lost the popular vote twice, as a distraction from their desire to take away our freedoms. Ron DeSantis and Alex Andrade are laser focused on dismantling the economic stability of Floridians by channeling billions of public tax-payer dollars into the bank accounts of for-profit corporations. The same corporations that price gouge the pockets of working families everyday.
They knowingly back this con-man because they want to take away everything from Social Security to our freedom to make our own healthcare decisions, for one purpose and one purpose only: to rule for the wealthiest few.
It’s long past time for every Florida Republican in office to declare they are with the American people in demanding he and his co-conspirators stand trial. But they won’t because they lack the courage to stand up for true American values. So it is time to elect leaders who will.
