Ocala Department of Public Works routinely promotes an array of projects across the city; projects related to traffic operations, street widening, stormwater/flood control, and sewer line maintenance. But sources within the the department report that city managers are struggling to keep up with public improvement projects under the current budget. The department works hard to streamline road projects to make them as cheap as possible, but now the staff are under immense pressure to accomplish more with less resources.

The bipartisan infrastructure bill will change that. It will be the largest investment in Ocala roads since World War II. And yet, the right-wing Republican Kat Cammack voted to kill it.

For decades the people of Florida sent millions more to Washington DC than we got back in return. The infrastructure bill is a chance for us to get back some of our hard earned tax dollars. Money to fund our neighborhoods and keep us safe. Money to improve our stormwater drainage system and protect our homes.

Kat Cammack claims to be a fiscal conservative. She’s not. She had the opportunity to return on Florida’s investment and instead she used our government tax dollars to make Instagram videos. She points the finger at immigrants 5 STATES AWAY to distract from the fact that she has no plan to accommodate our overcrowded schools, no plans to increase law enforcement and fire rescue resources, and no plan to improve our sewage drainage systems.

But we will not fall for her distractions. We can right this ship. We have the power to elect candidates that put our needs above the DC Swamp. Just like we won better pay, We Make Florida deliver economic success to our communities.
